Job summary

Universal Dedicated, Inc., based in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Transportation Operations Supervisor to coordinate daily freight movements for Stellantis and General Motors, ensuring on-time service. This 2nd shift role supports driver activity, customer requirements, and communication between drivers, customers, and leadership, with emphasis on safety and DOT compliance.

The shift is Monday–Saturday, 2:00 PM–11:00 PM, and the position focuses on leading, coaching, and improving daily operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or related fields are a plus.
• Experience in transportation, dispatch, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, customer service, or operations environments preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily routes and driver assignments to ensure on-time service.
• Serve as primary contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Monitor freight movement and communicate shipment updates and delays.
• Support driver scheduling, attendance, and staffing needs.
• Maintain records, reports, and operational documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Provide coaching and support to drivers.

The team plays a critical role in coordinating daily freight movements, managing driver activity, supporting customer requirements, and ensuring seamless communication between customers, drivers, and operational leadership.

Shift Available

2nd Shift: Monday-Saturday, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily routes and driver assignments to ensure on-time service.
