Job summary

Nexair-LL seeks a CDL driver to load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gases and support hard goods orders. You will perform DOT pre/post-trip inspections and complete required FDA/DOT documentation.

You will use a handheld device to track deliveries, maintain DOT-compliant safety practices, and foster strong customer relationships at client sites. A valid CDL with HazMat, clean MVR, and ability to lift up to 150–600 lbs on various tasks are required; overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL A or B with Hazmat endorsement.
• Clean MVR driving record required.
• Ability to read and comprehend MSDS.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders; return empty cylinders for refilling.
• Perform all required pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
• Complete all FDA/DOT required documentation.
• Track delivery and pickup using handheld device; document all steps.
• Maintain DOT-compliant safety practices and vehicle cleanliness.
• Communicate with supervisor on maintenance, issues and efficiencies.
• Establish good customer relations during site visits.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment when needed.

Job description

• Safely load, deliver and unload cylinders containing compressed gases and hard goods orders; return empty cylinders to branch or plant for refilling.
• Perform all required pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
• Complete all FDA/DOT required documentation.
• Track delivery and pick-up of cylinders at customer sites using handheld device and complete all the required information/steps during the delivery and pick-up processes.
• Keep truck clean and in line with DOT standards.
• Communicate with supervisor on truck maintenance, customer-related issues, and delivery efficiencies.
• Establish and maintain good customer relations by communicating in person with customers.
• Identify and monitor customers’ needs and work with them to maintain proper hard goods and cylinder levels to minimize or eliminate emergency deliveries.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
• Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One (1) year driving experience.
• CDL A or B with Hazmat Endorsement.
• Clean MVR driving record.
• Employee must be able to lift 65 lbs.
• Employee must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by the DOT.
• Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete for an extended period of time; bend; use hands and arms; and handle cylinders regularly weighing 150 pounds up to a maximum of 600 pounds.
