Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Altoona, PA is hiring a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete pickups and drops for donations. You will drive, plan routes, and assist store staff while representing the organization professionally.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, loading/unloading, and maintaining records. A DOT physical may be required; a clean DMV record is necessary. This is a full-time role with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Valid driver’s license for assigned vehicles and acceptable DMV record.
• Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
• Must read maps and plan daily routes.
• Must use Ipad with GPS, texting and truck inspection report.
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Medical card may be required depending on city/state.
• DOT physical may be required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe operation and security of vehicle and equipment.
• Perform daily vehicle inspection and report issues to supervisor.
• Keep truck cab and box clean; remove personal items daily.
• Plan daily routing based on pickups and make all calls scheduled.
• Develop assigned route and manage loading/unloading as instructed.
• Represent The Salvation Army to customers; ensure courteous service.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Maintain delivery manifests and logs; follow reporting procedures.
• Assist Thrift Store staff with item placement and store workflow.
• Supervise Truck Helper and model good habits within rehab program.
