Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is hiring a Dispatcher & Router for a full-time, on-site role in New Jersey. You will manage driver scheduling, route planning, and compliance with hours-of-service rules to ensure timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include monitoring routes, assisting drivers, building efficient routes, and coordinating with the warehouse for loading orders while maintaining accurate schedules and staffing considerations.

Qualifications

• Experience in dispatching and route planning.
• Knowledge of DOT hours-of-service requirements.
• Familiarity with fleet-management systems (Samsara/ELD) preferred.
• Strong computer, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor active routes, driver progress, delays, and estimated return times.
• Assist drivers with delivery issues, customer changes, and route-related questions.
• Review deliveries and pickups scheduled for the following day.
• Build safe and efficient routes based on location, appointment times, and customer requirements.
• Assign drivers, vehicles, start times, and loading order.
• Review schedules, PTO, call-outs, and availability before assignments.
• Verify driver hours and resets to prevent HOS violations.
• Ensure trucks are available and appropriate for each route.
• Track trucks in shop or out of service.
• Ensure each scheduled job is assigned to a route.
• Provide warehouse with next day loading and departure order.
• Publish the completed schedule by the deadline.
• Prepare a handoff for the Morning Dispatcher.
