Job summary

TDS Telecom seeks a Network Specialist I - Route Acquisition to handle rights of occupancy for real property and for facility colocations. You will prepare permits, easements, and leases, interfacing with internal teams and external authorities to secure rights ahead of construction.

The role requires strong knowledge of real estate law, GIS, project management, and excellent communication. Telecommuting is flexible, with preferred proximity to Seattle, Olympia, or Tacoma in Washington.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or higher) -OR- 2+ years professional work experience.
• 3+ years experience in Voice, Data, or Video networking.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Permits: research requirements, communicate with permit authorities, attend meetings, travel, scope/estimate work, prepare applications, negotiate and submit fees, secure rights ahead of construction, update records, GIS maps.
• Easements & Right of Entry Agreements: research local requirements, negotiate with private property owners, prepare documents, secure signatures, records update, GIS maps.
• Lease work: assist with negotiation, alerts, payments, location issues, records research, document preparation.
• Assist with Special Projects and Initiatives (committees, mandates, programs, customer driven projects).
• Assist with Operations (vendor and risk management, metrics, reports, scheduling, communications, research, customer service).
• Any other responsibilities, duties or tasks as assigned in support of achieving goals.
