Job summary

BD Engineering Development Program (EDP) is a three-year rotation for new engineering graduates across BD businesses in the US, collaborating with R&D to design, develop, and manufacture a wide range of medical devices.

Participants rotate through locations such as Vernon Hills, IL; Irvine, CA; Covington, GA; Salt Lake City, UT; Durham, NC; and more, progressing to a full-time role in an R&D group based on interests and business needs. Relocation annually is required.

Qualifications

• New engineering graduates with a BS or MS in Mechanical, Biomedical (Bioengineering), Materials, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline.
• Graduation window Aug 2026 – Jun 2027.
• Excellent academic record and internship/co-op experience.
• Willingness to relocate annually during the three-year program.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Join R&D to design, develop, and test medical devices while following regulatory quality processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across functions and participate in design reviews and device testing.
• Provide regular status updates and contribute to cross-functional projects.
