Job summary

BD's Engineering Development Program (EDP) offers new engineering graduates the chance to rotate through three BD businesses in the US over three years, including a rotation in San Diego, CA. You'll design, develop, and test medical devices alongside R&D teams, participate in design reviews, and learn through hands-on experiences while advancing toward a full-time R&D role with BD.

Relocation to diverse BD sites is required, and you will build a broad network across engineering disciplines while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials, Electrical, Chemical, or related engineering.
• Graduation date between August 2026 and June 2027.
• Excellent academic record.
• Relevant internship or co-op experience.
• Willingness to relocate annually during the three-year program.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of an R&D manager to develop and maintain medical technology and devices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, scientists, and quality, regulatory, and marketing groups to understand patient needs and translate them into new technology.
• Participate in design reviews, device testing, and provide regular status updates.
