Job summary

Weeks Marine in Houma, LA seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a 19/9 rotation. You will repair and maintain cranes, dredges, and other marine machinery in a shipyard environment, with travel to field locations.

This role emphasizes troubleshooting, reading diagrams, and performing mechanical and hydraulic repairs on dredges and vessels. A 50-hour workweek and willingness to work seven days as needed are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience in a shipyard setting.
• 1–2 years of marine electrical experience required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Travel to field locations is required; transportation paid.
• Ability to work 50 hours per week, and 7 days as needed.
• Ability to read, interpret hydraulic diagrams and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment problems and perform repairs.
• Identify and perform repairs aboard dredges and marine vessels.
• Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic equipment including winches and pumps.
• Read diagrams, schematics, blueprints and manuals for diagnostics.
• Set up equipment and assist users; ensure safety compliance.
• Inspect work and verify conformance to plans; communicate deficiencies.
