Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment while performing maintenance on roads and rights-of-way, loading, hauling and dumping on varied surfaces.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication on equipment.
• May train others in safe operation of equipment and techniques.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify defects.
