This role operates on a 19 days on/9 days off rotation with 12-hour days and requires travel to field locations. A valid driver's license and transport to job sites are needed; safety and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience in a shipyard setting.
• 1-2 years of marine electrical experience minimum.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• Travel to field locations required, transportation paid.
• Ability to work a 50-hour work week and overtime as needed.
• Read, interpret, and troubleshoot hydraulic drawings and systems.
• Read technical manuals and mechanical drawings for repair work.
• Work independently and with others as a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment remedies and problems.
• Identify, propose, and perform repairs and maintenance aboard dredges and marine vessels.
• Install, assemble, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Read diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and manuals for repair info.
• Set up equipment and assist users of equipment.
• Follow safety policies to maintain an incident-free workplace.
• Inspect work for contract compliance and take corrective action as needed.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources for activities.
