Job summary

GMO is a Boston-based global investment manager offering multi-asset class and alternative strategies. The Investment Research Associate Program is a three-year rotational opportunity across investment teams, designed for intellectually curious individuals who will gain exposure to both quantitative and fundamental approaches.

Associates rotate every six to eight months, work closely with researchers, PMs, and traders, and aim for placement on investment teams after completion with potential

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree by June 2027.
• Degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as Mathematics, Economics, Financial Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in investing through coursework or internship experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Programming experience in Python or MATLAB; familiarity with SQL is a plus.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and prompt engineering.
• Genuine passion for investing and a strong desire to analyze opportunities.
• Willingness to take initiative and contribute a differentiated perspective.

Responsibilities

• Develop and/or redefine investment models and frameworks across markets.
• Complete complex analytical projects.
• Interpret company announcements and their investment implications.
• Investigate macroeconomic themes and trends.
• Communicate and present investment ideas to colleagues.
