Job summary

GMO in Boston offers a two-year Quantitative Technology Associate rotation across three technology teams. You will build tools for research, trading, portfolio management, client, and operations, with close interaction to business stakeholders.

During rotations, you’ll learn Python, SQL, C#, PowerShell, JavaScript, R, MATLAB or other languages while participating in training sessions to deepen your understanding of investment management tech and the firm’s landscape.

Qualifications

• Proven programming or scripting experience through work, internships, personal projects or classwork.
• Python experience is required.
• Knowledge of data stores, cloud computing, cybersecurity, or infrastructure concepts.
• Strong track record of delivering technology solutions.
• Desire to develop a broad range of technical skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts, systems, and software.
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies in business/investment contexts.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks with prioritization.
• Technology-related degrees or certificates are required; undergrad or grad candidates considered.

Responsibilities

• Propose, design, and implement tech solutions for investment, client, and operations teams.
• Enhance existing technology solutions.
• Collaborate with tech experts, product owners, and research teams; gain skills in multiple languages.
• Manage the design and implementation of enterprise service platforms with DevOps practices.
• Monitor, test, and support production environments; run regression tests.
• Troubleshoot and remediate technical problems.
• Participate in peer reviews (code and design).
• Produce technical documentation as needed.
