Job summary

Johnson Controls offers an 18‑month Engineering Training Program with four rotational assignments across engineering and business functions. The program includes on‑site work at a Johnson Controls facility five days a week, with rotations potentially at other U.S. locations and some travel.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience, leadership development, and exposure to top talent as you prepare for a full‑time role in related engineering or project management tracks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
• Flexibility to work across multiple functions, teams, and locations, including relocation and rotational assignments throughout the United States.
• Passion for learning, growth, and leadership, demonstrated through school, work, community involvement, internships, or co‑op experiences.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and work effectively toward common goals.
• Proficiency in organizing and analyzing data to solve multidimensional problems, along with demonstrated proficiency using AI tools and technologies.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site, travel domestically and internationally as required, and have the legality to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Complete structured rotational assignments across engineering, operations, product development, and other key functions.
• Apply technical and business skills to real‑world projects, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to solve complex challenges and drive impact.
• Receive mentorship and coaching from senior leaders and technical experts while developing problem‑solving, communication, and leadership capabilities.
• Contribute to the successful and timely completion of projects, provide status updates, and deliver a final capstone project.
• Work on‑site at your assigned Johnson Controls facility throughout the program and complete rotations that may require extended stays at other U.S. locations.
• Travel domestically and occasionally internationally for training, project work, factory or supplier visits, and collaboration with global engineering teams.
