Job summary

Johnson Controls offers an 18‑month Engineering Training Program with four rotational assignments across engineering and business functions. The program includes on‑site work at a Johnson Controls facility five days a week, with rotations potentially at other U.S. locations and some travel.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience, leadership development, and exposure to top talent as you prepare for a full‑time role in related engineering or project management tracks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
• Flexibility to work across multiple functions, teams, and locations, including relocation and rotational assignments throughout the United States.
• Passion for learning, growth, and leadership, demonstrated through school, work, community involvement, internships, or co‑op experiences.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and work effectively toward common goals.
• Proficiency in organizing and analyzing data to solve multidimensional problems, along with demonstrated proficiency using AI tools and technologies.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site, travel domestically and internationally as required, and have the legality to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Contribute to the successful and timely completion of projects, provide status updates, and deliver a final capstone project.
• Work on‑site at your assigned Johnson Controls facility throughout the program and complete rotations that may require extended stays at other U.S. locations.
• Travel domestically and occasionally internationally for training, project work, factory or supplier visits, and collaboration with global engineering teams.

Work Location, Rotations, and Travel

This is a fully on‑site position and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work arrangements. Participants are expected to work in person at their assigned Johnson Controls facility five days per week.

Rotational assignments are a core part of this program and are not limited to your hiring location. One or more of your rotations may be based at another Johnson Controls facility within the United States and require an extended stay away from your home location, typically lasting several weeks to several months. Company‑supported travel, lodging, and relocation assistance are provided in accordance with company policy.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field); preferred coursework includes Thermodynamics, Machine Design, Fluid Flow, and Introduction to Electrical Engineering.

Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple functions, teams, and locations, including relocation and rotational assignments throughout the United States.
