Job summary

The CAT Rotational Frac Technician II is a field-focused repair technician responsible for high-quality service on frac equipment. This role follows a rotating 14 days on / 7 days off schedule, requiring travel to and lodging at the assigned site for the 14-day work period.

You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild diesel and industrial systems, document work and time, and adhere to safety and contamination control policies in both field and shop environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience as a diesel/automotive technician/mechanic or equivalent education and experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of diesel or gas engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Current, valid driver’s license and ability to meet all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
• Perform work in a shop or field setting.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and inspect assemblies around frac trailers/industrial equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform engine repairs.
• Test and verify correct operation of repairs and adjustments.
• Accurate and timely service reports and timecards daily.
• Engine and component rebuilds and repairs with limited supervision.
