Job summary

FirstEnergy Service Co. offers an 18-month Rotational Engineering (ROE) Program designed for early-career engineers to gain broad exposure across FirstEnergy’s Transmission and Distribution engineering services.

The program includes three six-month rotations, on-site work, and personalized coaching, mentoring, and professional development. Locations include OH, PA, WV, MD, and NJ with a start in January or June 2027.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or PE license alternative.
• Non-ABET degree plus advanced degree from ABET program also acceptable.
• 0+ years engineering experience; co-op/internship preferred.
• Ability to apply safety requirements to project designs and maintain safety commitments.
• Willingness to report to assigned on-site locations for rotations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform engineering analysis, research, and provide technical recommendations.
• Develop technical solutions for basic processes or projects.
• Prepare engineering change packages, specifications, reports and presentations.
• Produce engineering outputs and support system operation readiness.
• Manage activities to ensure timely project start-up and implementation.
• Ensure compliance with design codes and standards.
• Deliver high-quality, customer-focused service.
• Collaborate across teams to add value within assignments.
• Support project start-up and independent/worked-teams execution.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)

ABET accreditation

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited)

Advanced Engineering degree

Ability to incoporate safety into project designs
