Job description

About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

The Rotational Engineering (ROE) Program was created to provide a quality experience to early career level engineers to learn across FirstEnergy in a variety of diverse engineering positions. This selective 18-month rotational program supports individuals to learn valuable technical and professional skills while kick-starting their career in the electric utility industry. The ROE Program resides in FirstEnergy's Construction & Design Services (C&DS), Transmission, and Distribution (Engineering Services) organizations.

As an entry level Engineer, you will perform tasks related to engineering, analysis, construction, startup, maintenance and operation of electrical Transmission and Distribution equipment and associated facilities. Within the program, individuals will have access to personalized coaching and mentoring, professional development, continued educational opportunities, and more.

Typically, rotational engineers will complete three rotations lasting approximately six months each. Rotational engineers are required to be geographically flexible for rotations. At the end of the program individuals are placed into final full-time assignments based upon business need and interest. The ROE position is an in-person role in which program participants will be expected to report in person during the rotations including daily work, trainings, site visits, professional development events, and more.

Possible work locations would be within our five-state footprint (Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey) and could include Akron, Ohio, Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Reading, Pennsylvania, Fairmont, West Virginia, and Morristown, New Jersey.

The estimated pay range for this role is $70,000-$80,000. The pay range for certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, includes a 20% differential to account for an increased cost of living, making the pay range $85,00-$95,000.
