Job summary

FirstEnergy Service Co. offers an open CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN SERVICES (C&DS) Rotational Engineering program for entry-level engineers. The 18‑month program features three rotations of about six months each, across Transmission and Distribution engineering, with mentoring and ongoing development.

Position requires geographic flexibility for rotations; final assignments come after the program ends. In-person work is required, with locations including OH, PA, WV, MD, and NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required.
• PE license or ABET-accredited Engineering Technology degree is acceptable.
• Non-ABET degree plus advanced ABET degree also considered.
• 0 years of engineering experience required.
• Co-op or internship participation preferred.
• Ability to prioritize safety in project designs.

Responsibilities

• Recognizing risks and taking precautions to ensure a safe work environment.
• Conducting technical research and analysis, interpreting results, and making recommendations.
• Providing engineering output documents and presentations.
• Managing activities to support timely system operations implementation.
• Ensuring compliance with design codes and safety standards.
