Job summary

Cordant from Baker Hughes is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to provide end-to-end service for critical rotating machinery assets. You will evaluate rotor dynamics, diagnose issues, and deliver protection and monitoring solutions on customer sites.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, at least 2 years of industry experience, and the ability to travel up to 70% with overtime. A valid driver’s license and passport are required, and TWIC eligibility may be needed.

Rotating Equipment Engineer

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will be providing customers complete service solutions to address their critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring system. This will include evaluating machinery condition based on rotor dynamic analysis.

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Diagnosing machinery problems based upon vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.

• Travel to customer sites to provide supporting service.

• Completing timely reports that identify findings and provide recommendations to the customer.

• Building relationships with customers to provide a high-level of service delivery, becoming their trusted advisor for their rotating equipment health.

• Calculating and overseeing placement of balance weights.

• Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering a plus)

• Have minimum 2 years of industry experience.

• Be available for extensive travel (up to 70%) and significant over-time (paid).

• Possess a valid driver's license and passport (or able to obtain a passport).

• Be eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).

• Be eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion.

• Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding mechanical prints.

• Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and controls systems.

• Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.

• Knowledge of or experience with AT LEAST one or more of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.

• Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and CordantTM services.

• Basic familiarity with computer network systems.
