Job summary

Geiger Pump & Equipment Company is seeking a rotating equipment application engineer to serve as a technical resource, troubleshoot failures, and recommend dependable solutions for customers in a fast-paced environment.

You'll work hands-on with equipment in our Baltimore shop, travel to the Aston, PA site as needed, support startup and field inspections, and expand your pump-applications expertise while collaborating with our service and sales teams.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience with rotating equipment, industrial/process equipment, or a similar technical support role.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred; Associate degree with equivalent hands-on industry experience also considered.
• Strong communicator able to discuss technical detail with engineers as well as with technicians.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications, engineering drawings, pump curves, and technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel regionally, including Aston, PA site (~1 hour from Baltimore).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for existing installations: troubleshooting, performance evaluations, and upgrade recommendations.
• Hands‑on opportunities with equipment alongside service technicians in the Baltimore shop and travel to Aston, PA as needed.
• Support startup, commissioning, field inspections, and performance verification on-site with field service technicians and sales engineers.
• Learn fundamentals of pump selection, sizing, and application to expand knowledge of equipment solutions and failure analysis.
• Assist in reviewing specifications, drawings, and operating conditions as part of the broader technical team.
• Support Outside Sales Engineers and inside sales teams with proposals, quotations, and technical submittals as needed.
