Job summary

Turner Industries in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a Combination Welder with Rope Access certifications (IRATA/SPRAT Level 1–3) to lay out, fit and weld fabricated components for tanks, vessels and structural parts. The role involves climbing, working at height, and rigorous safety compliance.

The candidate must pass a weld test, hold welding certification, and possess CPR and TWIC credentials. Excellent communication is needed for on-site duties and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• IRATA / SPRAT Level 1–3 certification
• TWIC Card
• Must pass weld test
• Must be certified as a welder
• Must have capacity for work at height
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• CPR certification
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen and safety policy acknowledgement
• Comply with safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct health/safety threat

Responsibilities

• Use rope access methods to access and complete a wide range of maintenance and welding tasks while suspended on ropes or in difficult access areas
• Lay out, position, align, and weld components; bolt, clamp, tack parts; set up equipment and weld parts
• Weld pipes and structural components using arc, TIG, and other welding processes
• May perform administrative tasks and technical reports as directed by supervisor
• Follow safety requirements and maintain a safe work environment
