Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking Combination Welders with Rope Access—IRATA or SPRAT Level 1–3 certification for the Houston, TX area. The role involves laying out, fitting, and welding components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, vessels and pipes.

Non-exempt, reports to the Foreman with duties per procedures and frequent checks. The position requires high school diploma, weld certification, ability to work at height, and passing a weld test.

Qualifications

• IRATA / SPRAT Level 1–3 certification required.
• TWIC Card preferred.
• Must pass weld test before hire.
• Certified welder.
• Ability to work at height.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• CPR certification.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and policy acceptance.
• Comply with safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct health or safety threat.

Responsibilities

• Use rope access methods to access and complete maintenance and welding tasks.
• Plan layout, align, and fit components for welding.
• Weld various materials (carbon steel, stainless, chrome) by arc, TIG, etc.
• Dismantle, repair, and fabricate as needed; cutting may be required.
• Prepare technical reports and follow supervisor guidance.
