Job summary

ASM Research in the United States seeks a Mid RCA Engineer to perform structured root cause analyses for recurring or high-impact incidents, collecting data from logs, traces, and incident records to identify underlying causes.

You will collaborate with Incident Response, Problem Management, SRE, and engineering teams to document outcomes and define corrective actions that improve reliability and reduce recurrence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT/related field.
• 4–7 years in IT operations, incident/problem management or reliability work.
• Proficient with ITIL and incident/problem management practices.

Responsibilities

• Apply RCA methodologies (5 Whys, fishbone, fault tree) per incident.
• Gather and analyze logs, traces, metrics, and topology maps.
• Lead cross-functional RCA sessions with operations, engineering, security, business teams.
• Translate findings into corrective/preventive actions aligned with Problem Management.
• Define and track RCA metrics (recurrence, cycle time) for quality improvements.
• Integrate RCA activities into ITIL-aligned processes and continual improvement.
• Produce RCA reports describing what happened, why, and prevention steps.
• Identify systemic reliability risks and patterns across incidents.
