Job summary

Four Seasons in Miami Beach seeks a Rooms Control Coordinator to partner with Front Desk, Revenue, and Housekeeping to optimize room inventory and maximize revenue for guestrooms and suites.

The role requires experience in a luxury hotel, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of inventory management within Opera PMS. Full-time schedule includes days, evenings, and weekends at the Surf Club location.

Qualifications

• Experience in a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
• 5 years of Front Desk and/or Reservations experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and technical proficiency.
• Knowledge of room inventory management and room assignment strategies.
• Experience working with Opera or a similar Property Management System.

Responsibilities

• Block the house and manage queue rooms, late check-out and early check-in requests.
• Balance room types to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with Revenue to identify upsell opportunities and pricing strategies; coordinate with Front Desk and Housekeeping for inventory readiness.
• Ensure Opera inventory balance and address variances.
• Allocate upgraded inventory to VIPs and manage room reservations for upgrades.
• Manage Out of Order/Out of Service rooms and coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering and Front Desk.

About The Role

The Rooms Control Coordinator will work in partnership with Front Desk, Revenue, Housekeeping, and other operational departments with a focus on managing the hotel's room inventory to maximize revenue pertaining to guestrooms & suites.

What You Will Do

• Block the house, managing queue rooms and communication related to queue rooms, managing traces, as well as late check-out and early check-in requests
• Ensure the hotel is set up for success by appropriately blocking guestrooms & suites by balancing room types to enhance revenue opportunities.
• Partner with the Revenue Team to identify potential upsell opportunities, determine appropriate pricing strategies, and prepare daily upsell target list. Communicate effectively with the Front Desk Team and coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure upgraded inventory is cleaned, inspected, and available for arriving guests in a timely manner.
• Ensure inventory across the Property Management System (Opera) is in balance and take corrective action in the event of variances
• Block VIPs into upgraded room types while allocating the proper number of rooms to be reserved for upgrades performed by the front desk that generate revenue
• Manage Out of Order and Out of Service rooms’ inventory, following up with departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Desk, and updating the Revenue Management team

What You Bring

• Experience working within a luxury hotel or similar environment
• 5 years of Front Desk and/or Reservations experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong knowledge of room inventory management and room assignment strategies
• Experience working with Opera or a similar Property Management System
