Job summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Room Service Associate for a full-time first shift. The role focuses on serving meals to patients professionally and efficiently, ensuring dietary guidelines are followed and patient needs are met.

You will coordinate with nursing and adapt meals within diet orders, while offering suitable alternatives to accommodate allergies and cultural preferences. This position requires a high school diploma or GED and prefers candidates with 1–3 months of food service experience

Qualifications

• 1–3 months of related food service experience preferred
• Food handler card or ServSafe certificate preferred

Responsibilities

• Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all therapeutic diets and the proper foods and condiments served with the particular diets.
• Gives all patients an opportunity to order their meals including calling isolation patients for their selections.
• Interacts with nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients’ food needs are met.
• Offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.
