Job summary

The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump, a flagship property of Shamin Hotels, is seeking a Room Inspector in our Housekeeping department. This role leads housekeeping teams, inspects rooms and ensures smooth department operations to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

One year of housekeeping or cleaning experience is required, with supervisory exposure preferred. The position offers competitive benefits and opportunities in hospitality management within a growing industry leader.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a housekeeper or cleaner is required and room inspection or supervisory experience is highly desired.
• Must have strong guest service skills and be able to communicate clearly.
• Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints.
• Time management skills and strong attention to details are critical.
• Must be discreet and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Must have dependable transportation.
• Physically able to move and/or operate large objects, such as housekeeping carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleans and boxes of inventory.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion with help.
• Must be able to work day-shifts, including weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train and supervise Room Attendants and Housepersons in a designated area to ensure all rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness and quality standards.
• Work with Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor and others to support the daily operation of the department, including opening/closing of the office, leading morning stand up meetings and communicating with the Front Desk.
• Assess room inventory, assign rooms for cleaning and inspect rooms.
• Verify and report status and/or discrepancies of rooms.
• Monitor linen rooms, carts and designated inventories.
• Coordinate with Engineering Department to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of items related to guest rooms and public areas.
• Perform Room Attendant, Houseperson or laundry duties as needed.
• Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner, answer their questions and address any issues with the team to ensure the guest's stay is a positively memorable experience.
