Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking a Technical Services Manager in Florida to serve as the technical subject matter expert for roofing products, and to develop and implement installation training programs for field and classroom settings. The role requires strong knowledge of roofing installation processes and building codes, with extensive travel across North America.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in construction, building materials, or related fields.
• Advanced knowledge of roofing installation processes.
• Knowledge of building and wind codes in assigned territory.
• Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documents such as installation instructions, architectural blueprints, construction plans, product specifications and building codes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, yet have the ability to lead and work as part of a team.
• Ability to construct training decks using common tools, building techniques, and materials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute installation instructions, guides, videos and other tools for field use.
• Develop product training methodology for classroom and field installation training.
• Train installation crews on proper installation technique.
• Train customers and sales personnel on proper installation technique.
• Serve as the technical SME for product knowledge, building code and installation questions.
• Manage day-to-day issues and work with sales to ensure solutions are achieved.
• Analyze and provide feedback concerning product development and pricing.
• Create strategies for providing product and installation support and training across North America.
• Provide feedback to Product Management, R&D, engineering and quality about product defects, design issues and potential enhancements.
