Job summary
Westlake Chemical is seeking a Technical Services Manager in Florida to serve as the technical SME for roofing products and installation training. You will develop classroom and field programs, create installation guides, and train installers, customers and sales staff on proper techniques.
The role encompasses North America product support, collaboration with Product Management, R&D and engineering, and feedback on product development.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of roofing installation processes.
- Knowledge of standard building practices.
- Knowledge of building and wind codes in assigned territory.
- Written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documents such as installation instructions, architectural blueprints, construction plans, product specifications and building codes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, yet have the ability to lead and work as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute installation instructions, guides, videos and other tools for use in the field.
- Develop product training methodology for classroom and field installation training.
- Train installation crews on proper installation technique.
- Train customers and sales personnel on proper installation technique.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for product knowledge, building code and installation questions.
- Manage day-to-day issues and work with sales to ensure solutions are achieved.
- Analyze and provide feedback concerning product development and pricing.
- Create strategies for providing product and installation support and training across North America.
- Provide feedback to Product Management, R&D, engineering and quality about product defects and potential enhancements.
- Collaborate with Customer Care to support warranty claims and customer complaints.
- Work with marketing for displays at trade shows.
- Up to 60% travel with 2-3 overnight stays per week.
