Job summary

Westlake Royal Building Products seeks a Technical Services Manager to act as the technical SME, handling installation and product-related inquiries. You will develop and implement classroom and field training programs for our products and lead customer and sales training activities.

The role focuses on the Florida market with travel up to 60% across North America, and collaboration with Product Management, R&D, engineering and Quality to address defects and enhancements.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of roofing installation processes.
• Knowledge of standard building practices.
• Specific knowledge of building and wind codes in assigned territory.
• Written and oral communication and presentations skills.
• Proven ability to interact with diverse backgrounds to promote products and proper installation practices.
• Skilled mechanical abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, architectural blueprints, construction plans, product specs and building codes.
• Ability to work independently yet lead and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute installation instructions, guides, videos and other tools for field use.
• Develop product training methodology for classroom and field installation training.
• Train installation crews on proper installation technique.
• Train customers and sales personnel on proper installation technique.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for product knowledge and coding questions.
• Manage day-to-day issues and collaborate with sales for solutions.
• Provide feedback on product development and pricing based on field observations.
• Create strategies for product and installation support across North America.
• Provide feedback to Product Management, R&D, engineering and quality on defects and enhancements.
• Collaborate with Customer Care to support warranty claims and complaints.
• Work with marketing to prepare trade show displays.
• Travel up to 60% with 2-3 overnight stays per week.
