Job summary

gpac is seeking a Service Manager for our New Orleans commercial roofing division. The role blends sales leadership with service department management, focusing on both client growth and operational execution in a fast-paced environment.

You will develop client relationships, manage personnel, review quotes and roof-related reports, and steer the service team to deliver high-quality roofing services, maintenance and repairs across commercial properties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years work experience in a supervisory/management role in construction.
• Advanced knowledge of the roofing industry and construction techniques.
• Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers, roof consultants and product representatives through business development.
• Attend conventions, conferences and seminars related to the roofing industry.
• Entertain at least one customer per week through lunches and/or golfing.

Service Manager, Commercial Roofing

Pay: $85k-$110k (Plus commission)

Location: New Orleans, LA

The Role

The Service Manager is responsible for generating sales and managing the business of roofing services, installation, maintenance and repair, and serving clients of commercial properties, industrial and institutional facilities. This role is a 50/50 split of sales and management of service department.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers, Roof Consultants and Product Representatives through business development
• Attend conventions, conferences and seminars related to the roofing industry
• Entertain at least one customer per week through lunches and/or golfing etc.
• Complete and/or review quotes and tenders for maintenance, repairs & mechanical upgrades as well as tenders for new roofs and roof replacements
• Prepare and/or review roof reports with photos, roof CAD drawings and quotes
• Create Work Orders for maintenance, repairs, new installations and roof replacements

Development And Management Of Relationships And Service Team

• Communication with existing customers, Roof Consultants and Product Representatives
• Responsible for all department and field staff including compensation, hiring, terminating, goal setting and performance reviews
• Conduct bi-weekly staff meetings to discuss schedules staffing and general day to day items
• Review and update the production schedule and any safety audits
• Review monthly work on hand with superintendent for jobs ready for invoicing

Completion and/or review of the following for new roofs or roof repairs

• Quotes and tenders for maintenance, repairs, and mechanical upgrades
• Roof Reports which may include photos and quotes
• Customer invoices and payable invoices, aged accounts, and receivables
• Work Orders and Bid sheets weekly to establish workload and fluctuations
• Maintain a departmental sales chart from the invoiced sales summary
• Financial analysis of project work on hand/work in progress and jobs completed

What You Need For This Position

Minimum 5 years work experience in a supervisory/management role construction environment. Advanced knowledge of the Roofing industry and construction techniques is mandatory. Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills. Strong communication, organization, multi-tasking and problem solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
