Job Title: Roofing Operations & Project Manager (Residential & Commercial)
Location: Tampa Bay, FL (On-site, field and office)
Pay: $80,000 to $120,000 base, plus bonus
About the Role
Our client, an established residential and commercial roofing company in Tampa Bay, is looking for a hands‑on Operations Project Manager to lead daily production, tighten cost control, and build the systems that help a growing business run with confidence. You will lead three to five roofing crews across multiple active projects, report to the Chief of Staff, and partner closely with the Production Manager.
This is a rare chance to shape how a company operates, not just keep it running. You will have real ownership, visible impact, and the backing of leadership to put structure in place.
What You’ll Do
- Lead three to five roofing crews across multiple residential and commercial projects, setting expectations, coaching team members, and holding people accountable
- Work with the Production Manager on the master production schedule, labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, inspections, and subcontractors
- Review budgets before work begins, track actual labor, material, and subcontractor costs, and catch overruns early
- Manage scope changes and change orders, including approvals and communicating the impact on cost and completion dates
- Build practical processes for job handoffs, pre-job planning, purchasing approvals, daily field reporting, quality checks, and closeout
- Help leadership improve CRM workflows, define job stages and task ownership, and drive consistent team adoption
- Visit jobsites regularly to verify workmanship, safety, and compliance with manufacturer specifications
- Lead regular production reviews on job status, budget variances, staffing, and schedule risks
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of roofing operations or project management experience on both residential and commercial projects
- Direct supervision of roofing crews, superintendents, or subcontractors
- Track record of managing multiple concurrent jobs on time and within budget
- Job costing and budget management experience, including change orders
- Experience building processes and accountability in a small to mid-size roofing or construction company
- Working knowledge of CRM platforms, construction management software, and spreadsheets
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between jobsites throughout Tampa Bay
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of roofing systems, installation methods, and manufacturer requirements
- Experience leading a CRM rollout or workflow redesign
- Experience with jobsite safety programs and quality control checks
What Success Looks Like
- Crews know the schedule, budget, and expectations for every job
- Leadership has clear visibility into production and job costs before problems become expensive
- Consistent handoffs, purchasing controls, and field reports reduce rework and material waste
- Projects close on time, on budget, and with fewer callbacks
Who Will Thrive Here
A practical leader who earns the respect of field teams, takes ownership, and can spot what is missing, build a workable process, and get people to follow it.
