Operations Manager - Commercial Roofing

Location: San Antonio, TX
Compensation: $100,000-$125,000 base salary, DOE

A well-established commercial roofing and building-envelope contractor is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead and strengthen its San Antonio operation.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who understands commercial roofing from the field through project delivery and knows how to lead people, manage performance and keep multiple projects moving safely and profitably.

The right person will likely come from a Commercial Roofing Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, General Superintendent or similar leadership position and be ready to take broader ownership of an operation.

The Opportunity

This isn't a role focused on managing one project at a time.

You'll have responsibility across the operation, working with Project Managers, Superintendents and field teams to make sure projects are properly staffed, executed safely, delivered on schedule and performing financially.

You'll also have the opportunity to develop people, improve processes and help an established contractor continue to grow its San Antonio presence.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Lead day-to-day commercial roofing operations across multiple active projects

• Manage, mentor and develop Project Managers, Superintendents and field leadership

• Oversee projects from operational handoff through completion

• Monitor project schedules, manpower, production and profitability

• Review project financials, budgets, costs and operational performance

• Ensure field teams have the labor, equipment and resources required to perform

• Work closely with estimating, project management, safety and executive leadership

• Maintain strong standards around safety, quality and accountability

• Identify operational issues early and work with teams to resolve them

• Build strong relationships with general contractors, owners and key clients

• Support workforce planning and allocation across multiple projects

• Help develop future leaders within the organization

• Drive consistency, communication and accountability across the operation

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial roofing experience is highly preferred

• Previous leadership experience in operations, project management or field operations

• Strong understanding of commercial low-slope roofing systems such as TPO, PVC, EPDM and modified bitumen

• Experience overseeing multiple commercial roofing projects simultaneously

• Strong understanding of project financials, budgets, labor and production

• Proven ability to lead and develop Project Managers, Superintendents and field personnel

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction safety and quality requirements

• Ability to work effectively with general contractors, owners and internal teams

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable making decisions and holding teams accountable

• Valid driver's license

• Degree in Construction Management, Business or a related discipline is helpful but not required for someone with significant industry experience
