Job summary
Westlake is seeking a Technical Services Manager to serve as the technical subject matter expert for roofing product lines including Newpoint Concrete Roof Tile, US Clay Tile, Unified Steel and Davinci Roofscapes. The role focuses on developing and implementing classroom and field training programs and responding to technical inquiries.
The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX, with up to 60% travel and 2-3 overnight stays per week.
Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience with construction, building materials or related fields.
- Advanced knowledge of roofing installation processes.
- Knowledge of building and wind codes in assigned territory.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documents such as installation instructions, blueprints, construction plans and building codes.
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team and construct training decks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute installation instructions, guides, videos and other tools for field use.
- Develop product training methodology for classroom and field installation training.
- Train installation crews on proper installation technique.
- Train customers and sales personnel on proper installation technique.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for product knowledge and codes.
- Coordinate with sales, Product Management, R&D, engineering and quality on feedback.
- Provide feedback to Product Management, R&D, engineering and quality about product defects or enhancements.
- Collaborate with Customer Care to support warranty claims and customer complaints.
- Assist marketing with trade show displays and product launches.
