Job summary

MARS Builder Solutions in Escondido, CA is seeking a Roofing Estimator to prepare accurate material quantity estimates, takeoffs, and quotations for roofing projects. You will review drawings, plans, and specs to develop detailed estimates and support the bidding process, working closely with the sales team, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

The role requires reading blueprints, performing digital takeoffs, and maintaining bid schedules while ensuring timely submissions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience estimating construction, roofing, architectural products, or related industries; or a demonstrated aptitude to learn estimating functions.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience using digital takeoff or estimating software.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed and itemized material quantity estimates from owner- or contractor-furnished plan sets.
• Prepare roofing takeoffs and quotations from architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to prepare accurate project estimates.
• Gather, analyze, and calculate takeoff data utilizing digital takeoff and estimating software.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with vendors and suppliers to support accurate pricing and material sourcing.
• Ensure the thoroughness and accuracy of estimates while supporting efficient project execution by field operations teams.
• Support the sales team by answering questions, providing estimate clarifications, and adjusting estimates and scopes based on customer feedback.
