Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Sayreville, NJ to support CAPEX projects, installations, and process improvements within rolling mill operations.

The role emphasizes data analysis, KPI tracking, and collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to optimize performance. A technical degree and 0–3 years’ experience in related environments are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing, steel processing, rolling mill operations, or related environments.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate CAPEX project operational aspects including planning, scheduling, production integration and commissioning support.
  • Support equipment installations, process upgrades and start-up activities for CAPEX initiatives.
  • Track and report KPIs and communicate findings to management and operations teams.
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure safety and environmental standards compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze rolling mill process performance including productivity, yield, quality, throughput, and utilization.
  • Collect, organize, and interpret production data to identify trends and improvements.
  • Apply statistical methods and data analysis to support process optimization and root cause investigations.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and productivity.
  • Support troubleshooting related to rolling mill operations, product quality, and process stability.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to improve process performance.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, reports, SOPs, and dashboards.
  • Participate in process capability studies and production trials.
  • Support Industry 4.0 and data-driven manufacturing initiatives.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

Your Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
