Job summary

CMC is offering a production associate role in our facilities in West Virginia. You will perform safe, routine tasks, assist with equipment and rolling mill operations, and support changeovers and troubleshooting during shifts. Training and advancement opportunities are provided to grow with the company.

The role requires basic computer skills, a willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in a fast-paced production setting.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer and software familiarity.
  • Ability to learn quickly and multitask.
  • Openness to rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in environments with temperature extremes, dust, and noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely to prevent injuries by following PPE and rules.
  • Communicate production issues and needs with the team.
  • Carry out tasks directed by operations support management in a safe, timely manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance or repairs as needed.
  • Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
  • Complete shift equipment inspection reports.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the work area.
  • Assist with supervision of equipment and rolling mill activities.
  • Support product changeovers and troubleshooting of mill stands and guides.

What You'll Do
  • Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE
  • Effectively communicate with others about possible production issues, concerns, and needs
  • Ensure the tasks and activities as directed by operations support management are carried out in a safe and timely manner
  • Perform minor/routine maintenance or repairs as needed without the assistance of maintenance personnel
  • Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
  • Ensure equipment inspection reports are filled out each shift
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
  • Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and communication with others
  • Assist with the supervision of equipment and Rolling Mill activities throughout the shift
  • Maintain a sustainable level of organization and cleanliness in working area
  • Assist rolling mill employees with product changeover, and with troubleshooting of mill stands and guides that are in-service
What You'll Need

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to temperature extremes, chemicals, dust, fumes, mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
