What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

1. Review requestor information to determine which records to release in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
2. Handle incoming phone calls regarding various Release of Information (ROI) issues.
3. Respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records and log their information into the ROI On-Line database.
4. Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax the necessary information.
5. Maintain accurate logs of medical record requests and scan documents into the ROI On-Line database.

What is Required (Qualifications):

• Minimum of one year of experience entering data into computer systems.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong verbal communication skills with a proven track record of responding to customer inquiries.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
• Attention to detail and dependability in job performance.

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

• Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or Health Information Management (HIM) Department.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
• Proven ability to work well in a team setting.
