What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

1. Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
2. Answer phone calls concerning various Release of Information (ROI) issues
3. Respond to walk-in customers requesting medical records and log information into the ROI On-Line database
4. Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information as needed
5. Log and scan medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database

What is Required (Qualifications):

• Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
• One or more years of experience entering data into computer systems
• Strong verbal communication skills with a proven ability to respond to customer inquiries
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

• Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician’s office or HIM Department
• Knowledge of medical terminology
