Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install and maintain the Starship test stand's electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems, including hydraulics, cryogenics, and gas handling. You will fabricate components from drawings and troubleshoot to support safe, high‑quality launch operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in maintenance on mechanical and low‑voltage systems, ability to lift 50 lbs, and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 2+ years in maintenance or installation on mechanical and low-voltage control systems
  • Experience on rocket launch pad or launch operations preferred
  • Military aviation propulsion or airframe experience preferred
  • Experience with heavy equipment (cranes, forklifts, man lifts)
  • Ability to read and follow detailed schematics
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/cryogenic systems
  • Experience with test setups and sensors

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install fluid system components from drawings/schematics
  • Troubleshoot issues during activation of controls, fluids, and mechanical systems
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to ensure system quality for launch readiness
  • Operate heavy machinery (forklifts, aerial platforms)
  • Perform maintenance for vehicle integration, pad maintenance, site maintenance, and facilities
  • Create and edit work orders and instructions
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Monitor instrumentation data to assess system health
