Job summary

The YMCA of Central Massachusetts is seeking a Rock Wall Staff member in Westborough, MA. This part-time role supports the Rock Wall program, ensuring a safe environment and delivering a structured climbing experience for participants.

Responsibilities include supervising classes, maintaining logs, and adhering to safety regulations while embodying the YMCA values. Competitive pay and access to YMCA facilities are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 17 years old.
• High school graduate or in the process of obtaining a diploma.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications or actively pursuing them.
• Experience in climbing or at climbing centers preferred.
• Ability to work with children indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to assist in teaching climbing activities.
• Patient, self-controlled, and adaptable to new situations.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and able to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and maintain a safe climbing environment for all participants.
• Accept and demonstrate the values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
• Work with Rock Wall lead to keep climber logs up to date.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings.
• Maintain the Rock Wall area, keeping it clean and free of trash.
• Supervise classes and follow the prescribed curriculum.
• Observe and enforce all safety regulations.
• Provide opportunities for participants to experience success.
• Administer first aid and CPR as necessary.
• Support the mission of the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
