Job summary

YMCA OF PAWTUCKET is seeking enthusiastic Rock Wall/Gym Attendants to oversee operations and maintain a safe, welcoming space for members of all ages in Pawtucket, RI. You will supervise activities, ensure equipment safety, and support program setup and breakdown.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, safety awareness, and ability to work with children and families in a community YMCA setting. CPR/First Aid/AED and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
• Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience working with children and diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Rock Wall and Gymnasium to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Monitor Rock Wall activities and enforce safety procedures and equipment use.
• Conduct safety checks of harnesses, ropes, mats, and facility gear; report issues.
• Provide supervision for children, teens, and adults with a positive attitude.
• Enforce YMCA policies and risk management procedures for safety.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist participants as needed.
• Set up/break down equipment for programs, events, rentals, and activities.
• Respond to emergencies per YMCA safety plans and communicate issues to supervisors.
