Job summary

Tutorintelligence is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain Manager to own the vendor base for Sonny V2. You will qualify suppliers, manage POs, and maintain BOM accuracy, ensuring timely builds and minimized costs.

You’ll build predictive tools, track lead times, and optimize supplier performance while collaborating with engineering and production teams. In this role you will travel to suppliers as needed, work on the shop floor, and drive cost and lead-time improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supply chain, purchasing, or strategic sourcing for hardware products.
• Hands-on experience sourcing from and managing Chinese vendors: factory qualification, PI/T/T payment structures, EXW and freight tradeoffs.
• Proven negotiator with examples of cost, lead-time, MOQ, or terms wins.
• Strong analytical and tool-building skills: clear-to-build, MRP-style, or shortage-forecasting tools in Excel, SQL, Python, or BI tool.
• Fluency with MES/ERP/PLM systems (ION, NetSuite, Arena, Odoo, SAP) and BOM revision control.
• Mechanical and electrical literacy to read drawings and discuss tolerances with engineers.
• Willingness to be on the shop floor, in warehouse, and travel to suppliers.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• The Sonny V2 vendor base: source, qualify, and manage suppliers; lead second-sourcing for critical parts; build partnerships.
• The buy: own purchase orders, buffer strategy, and material coverage; decide bulk-order timing and shipping modes; attach drawings to POs.
• Clear to Build: maintain predictive tools like clear-to-build reports, shortage callouts, lead-time trackers, dashboards.
• Cost and negotiation: drive landed cost, MOQs, lead times; optimize terms.
• Design change absorption: collaborate with Production Eng. and R&D to absorb BOM changes monthly.
• Outsourcing strategy: evaluate and stand up contract manufacturing options as volume grows in Sonny.
• Supplier performance: track on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness; escalate issues.
• System of record: maintain accurate part numbers, costs, on-order quantities, and inventory.
