Job summary

Tutor Intelligence is building a scalable, end-to-end supply chain for a high‑growth robotics program in Watertown, MA. You will own the Sonny V2 vendor base, manage purchases, build predictive tools, and drive cost and lead-time improvements across critical parts.

You will partner with Production Engineering and R&D to absorb design changes and explore outsourcing options as volumes increase, while maintaining strong supplier partnerships and data‑driven decision making.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in supply chain, purchasing, or sourcing for hardware products, through prototype → production.
• Hands-on experience sourcing from and managing Chinese vendors: factory qualification, PI/T/T payment structures, EXW and freight tradeoffs.
• Proven negotiator with cost, lead-time, MOQ, or terms wins.
• Strong analytical and tool-building skills: clear-to-build, shortage-forecasting tools in Excel/SQL/Python/BI.
• Fluency with MES/ERP/PLM systems and revision-controlled BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Own the Sonny V2 vendor base: source, qualify, manage suppliers, lead second‑sourcing for single-point failures.
• Own the buy: purchase orders, buffer strategy, material coverage, bulk‑order timing, and drawings/rev attachments to POs.
• Build and maintain predictive tools: clear‑to‑build reports, shortage callouts, lead‑time trackers, risk dashboards.
• Drive unit cost, payment terms, MOQs, and lead times to reduce landed costs.
• Absorb design changes with ECO process alongside Production Engineering & R&D.
• Evaluate outsourcing options for sub‑assembly and contract manufacturing as volumes grow.
• Track supplier on-time delivery, quality and responsiveness; escalate issues.
• Maintain the ION system of record: part numbers, costs, on‑order quantities.
