Job summary

ArcBest in Boston seeks a highly experienced Robotics Engineering Fellow to set the long-term autonomous systems strategy for its logistics automation portfolio. You will define the technology roadmap, establish enterprise engineering standards, and lead multi-million dollar R&D programs in collaboration with executives and clients.

You will mentor senior engineers, bridge gaps across functions, and ensure cross-platform compatibility while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• PhD with focus on Autonomous Systems, AI, or advanced Control Theory preferred.
• 15+ years of experience as a high-impact Robotics Engineer or equivalent.
• Proven track record in commercial scale robotic systems or hardware-software systems from R&D to deployment.
• Expert programming, systems analysis, and design skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect the long-term autonomy, control systems, and algorithmic frameworks for Vaux's autonomous portfolio.
• Define, manage, and govern interfaces between robotic platforms for cross-compatibility.
• Serve as compliance and risk management authority for robot design and standards.
