Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Software Engineering Intern in Robotics to contribute to design, development, and architecture of software powering robotic surgical platforms. Work spans real-time embedded systems, UI, AI/ML and cybersecurity, with hands-on experience across the full SDLC.

The role offers collaboration with expert engineers and exposure to robotics, controls, visualization, and distributed systems to advance surgical care worldwide.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor’s, graduate or PhD degree.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Full-time availability for June–September 2027 alignment with cohort dates.
• Willingness to work 40 hours/week.
• Target majors include Computer/Robotics/Software Engineering, Electrical or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software for real-time robotics applications.
• Contribute to software architecture and system-level design for robotic platforms.
• Implement and enhance software across application, embedded, firmware and UI domains.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, quality and clinical engineering.
