Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Systems & Simulation Engineer Intern to join the Surgery robotics team. You will collaborate across systems, mechanical, controls, electrical, and software engineers to support design and analysis of robotic surgical platforms.

You will gain hands-on experience with model-based design, simulation-based analysis, requirements development, verification, and cross-disciplinary teamwork.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a graduate or senior undergrad in a technical field and plan to return to academics.
• Strong fundamentals in dynamics, controls, robotics, or system modeling.
• Experience using engineering analysis or simulation tools through coursework or projects.

Responsibilities

• Support system-level and subsystem-level simulations for robotic platforms.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline engineers to model behavior and evaluate performance.
• Analyze simulation data to identify trends and guide engineering decisions.
• Assist requirements development, traceability, and verification planning.
• Support architecture studies and interface definitions across teams.
• Document methodologies, results, and conclusions in technical reports.
• Assist with lab testing and correlate simulations with experiments.
