Job summary

Edison Smart in New York City is seeking a Robotics Engineer to build the autonomy behind real-world robots, including arms and mobile platforms. You will deploy motion planning, control, and manipulation systems that must operate reliably in live environments.

You will develop in simulation and then port to hardware, shipping code daily. Proficiency in Python and C++, plus ROS 2 and related tools, is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong Python and C++ proficiency.
• Experience with ROS 2 in robotic applications.
• Knowledge of motion planning, kinematics, and trajectory generation.
• Hands-on hardware integration with arms or mobile robots.
• Experience with simulation environments such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo or MuJoCo.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy motion planning, control and manipulation for robot arms and mobile robots.
• Integrate robots with hardware and surrounding instruments.
• Develop in simulation, then deploy on real hardware.
• Ship code that runs on physical robots daily.
