Job summary

RoboForce Inc. seeks a Robotics Software Engineer to develop production-grade software powering real-world robot behavior. You will create, integrate, and improve autonomy, systems, and developer infrastructure for deployed robots operating in outdoor environments.

This hands-on role emphasizes writing production code, debugging complex field issues, and delivering reliable software that enhances robot performance in the field. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Education: B.S./M.S. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 2+ years in robotics, autonomous systems, or embedded platforms with field deployments.
• Proficiency: strong C++ and Python for production robotics software; robust tooling in Python.
• Robotics fundamentals: perception, motion planning, controls, localization, system integration, or robot behavior.
• Linux expertise: proficient in Linux development, debugging, scripting, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Collaboration: 5 days/week in-office collaboration with the team.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain production software for real-world robotic systems in C++ and Python.
• Integrate robotics capabilities across perception, planning, controls, teleoperation, and platform software.
• Improve software quality via testing, validation, fault handling, and performance tuning.
• Investigate failures spanning software, sensors, networking, timing, and hardware interfaces.
• Build internal tools and workflows to improve developer velocity, testing, observability, and release quality.
• Validate features on hardware through on-robot testing and rapid iteration.
