Tutor Intelligence in Watertown, MA, is hiring two Robotics Software Engineers to join its R&D team. This hands-on role develops real-time software for physical robotic systems, from embedded control to cloud infrastructure, deploying into factories.

We seek engineers with 5–10 years in robotics, strong CS fundamentals, and a track record building software for robotic arms, perception or motion planning. This onsite, full-time role offers equity and growth in a fast-moving Series A environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of software engineering experience within robotics, automation or embedded systems
• Commercial experience building software for physical robotic systems, such as robotic arms, manipulation systems or autonomous hardware
• Exceptionally strong programming and computer science fundamentals
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics or a related engineering field
• The ability to work across multiple languages, platforms and layers of the stack
• A practical, collaborative approach to engineering
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities may evolve

Responsibilities

• Build and orchestrate real-time software for robotic systems
• Develop motion-planning and robot-optimisation systems
• Build perception and machine-learning pipelines
• Create data-labelling tools and front-end interfaces
• Work across the stack, from embedded systems and firmware to cloud infrastructure
• Improve the compilers, services and tooling that power robot intelligence
• Deploy software directly into customer facilities
• Diagnose complex problems where software meets hardware and the physical world
• Collaborate closely with a low-ego, highly technical team around the whiteboard and on the factory floor
