Job summary

Programmers.io is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Mechatronics engineer in Cupertino, CA to design and build complex reliability fixtures interfacing with CT scanning systems. You will automate tests, analyze CT data with AI/ML, and collaborate across imaging, design, and failure analysis teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and building custom mechanical/electromechanical test fixtures.
• Strong robotics/mechatronics background: design, motion control, actuators, sensors.
• Experience integrating hardware into constrained systems.
• Proficiency in Python for fixture control, automation, and data analysis.
• Experience applying AI/ML to engineering, imaging, or test data.
• Self-driven with ownership and ability to work with ambiguous requirements.
• Strong mechanical hands-on skills: assembly, wiring, troubleshooting.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and integrate mechanical reliability fixtures for product testing.
• Interface fixtures with CT scanners and imaging hardware to minimize artifacts.
• Develop Python software to control fixtures and log data during long tests.
• Apply AI/ML to analyze CT imaging and reliability data to predict failures.
• Collaborate with CT/imaging, design, and failure analysis teams; iterate based on results.
• Document designs, integration procedures, and test results for reproducibility.
• Drive projects independently from concept to deployment.
